After submissions from more businesses than ever, many of whom are first-time entrants, our judges have been busy whittling down over 130 entries to form our final shortlist of incredible tourism trailblazers.

Entries for the Awards have closed for this year, but we're excited to officially announce the shortlist for our three new local categories: Volunteer of the Year, The Rising Star Award and Tourism Events & Festival of the Year.

VisitEngland’s Awards for Excellence champion the very best of the country’s tourism industry on a national stage. Winning an award shows that your business is among the best in the country. This is a real opportunity to profile your business on a national stage, get media exposure and competitive edge as well as enhance our region and your reputation as the best of the best.
To be in with a chance of being recognised nationally you must enter the North East England Tourism Awards.
Our annual local awards are delivered by Destination North East England and ran in partnership with VisitEngland, The North East England Tourism Awards (NEETA) celebrate quality, innovation and best practice, showcasing the fantastic range of high-quality experiences on offer for visitors in our region.
Those who enter the tourism awards, help to further strengthen our offer, showcase excellence and share best practice across our whole region. Destination North East England also offer a wider programme of business support for businesses, designed to deliver excellence.
Eligible winners are then put forward for the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence in London, giving tourism business the opportunity to shine on a national stage.
