John Marshall

John was born and brought up in Newcastle and educated in the North East. Living in Northumberland, John spent his legal career at Dickinson Dees LLP (now Womble Bond Dickinson UK LLP) from 1989-2016, latterly from 2009 until 2016 as Board Member, Senior Partner and Vice-Chairman following the firm’s merger.

Pursuing a new direction since then, John’s roles as non-executive director include Deputy Chair of North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, Chair of North East Ambulance Services Unified Solutions in Sunderland, Chair of Newcastle Gateshead Initiative, Chair of North East England Chamber of Commerce and Chair of Trustees of Newcastle United Foundation.

John is a Board Member of Believe Housing Limited based in Durham and Chair of the Development Committee for Prince’s Trust for the North East. He is also Vice Chair of Trustees at Northumberland Church of England Academy Trust in Ashington and Governor of St Chad’s College, Durham University.
