Ambitions for the North East England Visitor Economy
Join us to find out more about the North East Combined Authority’s ambitions for the visitor economy. This is an opportunity for industry to hear more about the direction of travel and engage in this process, working together to help unlock growth.

Destination North East England, in parallel with the North East Combined Authority has ambitions to double the value of the visitor economy in ten years. The North East Devolution Deal, the North East Mayor’s Manifesto and the draft Local Growth Plans all reference the importance of the Visitor Economy to the region.
On the 18 March the North East Combined Authority hosted a full cabinet Meeting which set out the following:
- Proposed principles underpinning a new regional approach for the visitor economy.
- Potential scope and functions required; and
- Next steps for stakeholder engagement.
