Destination North East England is closing in June
Destination North East England was England's first Destination Development Partnership Pilot and after four trailblazing years, this website will be closing to make way for Experience North East England.
In March, North East Mayor Kim McGuinness and the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority's cabinet approved £7million in new funding which will build on the legacy of the Destination Development Partnership Pilot to achieve the region’s visitor economy growth ambitions. This funding will see NewcastleGateshead Initiative transform into Experience North East England.
What happens to the content and resources here?
Many of the resources and content developed as part of the Destination Development Partnership will be retained as part of the new Experience North East England website.
You will still have access to our library of accessibility videos, our world-first regenerative visitor economy framework and the North East England Tourism Awards pages.
In early June, this website will automatically redirect to the new Experience North East England website.
