Four local categories are now open for entries, giving businesses another chance to be part of the 2027 awards: Festival or Event of the Year, Rising Star of the Year, Cultural or Live Venue of the Year, and Independent Business of the Year.
You have until Monday 9 November 2026, 12 pm to enter the new categories.

VisitEngland’s Awards for Excellence champion the very best of the country’s tourism industry on a national stage. Winning an award shows that your business is among the best in the country. This is a real opportunity to profile your business on a national stage, get media exposure and competitive edge as well as enhance our region and your reputation as the best of the best.
To be in with a chance of being recognised nationally you must enter the North East England Tourism Awards.
Celebrating quality, innovation and best practice
Our annual local awards are run in partnership with VisitEngland, The North East England Tourism Awards (NEETA) celebrate quality, innovation and best practice, showcasing the fantastic range of high-quality experiences on offer for visitors in our region.
Those who enter the tourism awards, help to further strengthen our offer, showcase excellence and share best practice across our whole region. We also offer a wider programme of business support for businesses, designed to deliver excellence.
Eligible winners are then put forward for the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence in London, giving tourism business the opportunity to shine on a national stage.
